History - World Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai Japan

In 2020, the registration file for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan was approved by the General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), and the exhibition will be held from 13 April 2025 to 13 October 2025.

The theme "Designing the Society of the Future, Imagining Our Future Life" invites people to think about the life they want to lead and how they can maximise their potential.

This theme is subdivided into 3 sub-themes:

- Saving lives focuses on protecting lives.
- Inspiring lives aims to enrich people's lives and develop their potential.
- Connecting Lives aims to involve everyone, create communities and enrich society.

The Exhibition site, covering an area of 1.55 km2, is located on the artificial island of Yumeshima (literally, "the island of dreams") on Osaka's waterfront.
