Dioramas of picturesque places, a 15th century cannon, mission bells, treasure chests and an anchor, St Augustine, inlaid leads to a display of strange fruits.

Papaya is like cantaloupe, except that papayas grow on trees, the Chinese star fruit, with a bright pink shell like shrimp, mango, avocado.

In a garden adjoining the indoor exhibit are dozens of different species of palms; lilies floating on a pool of water lilies; orchids growing on old trees and stumps as they do in the Everglades.

A pair of tame pink ibises are crossed along the garden. Citrus fruits known as: grapefruit, oranges, lemons and limes, the calamondin, which is the size of a lime, has a skin like a tangerine and is more sour than a lemon.
