The island of the swans presented upstream of the bridge, a bulge almost circular which was occupied by the regional exhibition of Corsica to which one reached by means of a passage below.
It was a large dark rock at the foot of which a few houses were entangled, built steeply above the waves.
A wash-house, a stone arch and you were on the village square.
Under the arches of the bridge the exhibition of the Maison des Arts grouped the curious small local industries.
On the other side, caves where mineral springs came out and where dioramas by two Corsican painters took place.
