The Palais du Froid was flanked by its curious "Snow Tower" (40 metres high) which, thanks to a new application of the refrigeration industry, remained a gigantic sherbet, covered with its white bark, for the entire duration of the Exhibition.
In its large 100-metre long nave, visitors could see all the phases of food preservation from the point of origin to the place of consumption, evoked by photographs or models of isothermal wagons and trucks, ships, stations and cold stores.
