The General Confederation of Labour, in collaboration with the Chambre Syndicale des Techniciens du Bâtiment, des Travaux Publics et des Matériaux de Construction, had wanted to show the public the role and importance of the CGT, to create in the exhibition a place for workers to meet (parties, conferences, etc.) as well as an information centre, to show the contribution of organised labour to the country's economic structure, and to make known the history of labour and its emancipation.

It included an entrance hall with a statue of Peace.

Six rooms with dioramas, reserved for the main federations of industry.

On the first floor was a reception room and the administrative services.

In the basement, there was a documentation room where you could find technical, trade union, social and historical books.
