Pelegrin, the official mascot of the 1993 Jacobean Year celebration (XACOBEO'93), was the friendly host for all visitors to the Galicia pavilion, who took on the task of introducing you to this friendly and prosperous country. By giving him your hand you would enter a land with deep European roots, confidently looking to the future from its privileged location in the extreme northwest of the Iberian Peninsula.
You could admire its magnificent landscapes, its snow-capped peaks and the infinite calm of its gulfs, you could also taste its rich and varied gastronomy, you could discover the most outstanding works of its artists, fashion, industry,... you could make contact, in short, with a cheerful and hospitable people who were already preparing their best galas to make 1993 the year of Galicia.
