The Qatar pavilion showcased its rich history as well as the development it is now undergoing. It introduced Doha and Qatari culture to the people of Japan and the world. The pavilion presented the country's history, culture and society, economy, industry, education and preparations for hosting the 15th Asian Games in 2006.
Visitors could understand from the exhibits that Qatar was an exporter of clean energy - natural gas - and was not only preserving its rich and diverse flora and fauna in the Arabian Gulf but also contributing to the protection of the global environment. The 648m2 pavilion depicted Qatar's past, present and future through interactive displays, music and the traditional work of women and craftsmen. The aim behind Qatar's participation was to give Qatar a global opening and to highlight its development in everyday life.
