The theme of the Tunisian pavilion was "Tunisia: Peace and Sustainable Development". Economic development should not damage the current environment. The pavilion presented various materials to explain how Tunisia protects and controls water and other natural resources, conserves biodiversity through the development of national parks and nature reserves, and popularises environmental education. Of course, you couldn't miss the introduction of the 3,000 year old Tunisian history and its national land. You could also learn about the influence given by various historical stages in Tunisia - the Carthaginian, Roman, Arab and Ottoman periods, and see the deserts, the Mediterranean sea, the oases, and the rich greenery of olive and pine trees on the beach.
