The three Caucasian countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia) have an ancient civilisation and their people are renowned for their health and longevity. The popularity of fermented foods such as yoghurt, cheese and wine is said to play a role in their health. Caucasians consider normal food such as herbs (planted for food as well as for use in medicine) and honey as gifts from nature.
The theme of the Caucasus pavilion was "health and longevity" and the exhibition used maps, pictures of the mountains and paintings to illustrate the theme. People and tradition, history and everyday life - these were the main elements of the Caucasus exhibition, which gave visitors the opportunity to see the splendour of nature and its wisdom.
