The theme of the Malaysian pavilion was "Fully Natural. Infinitely Harmonious." Malaysia is characterised as a multiracial and multicultural country and is home to some of the world's oldest rainforests. With these facts in mind, the pavilion showcased the grand landscape of tropical forests and images of beautiful coral reefs. In addition, the pavilion showcased efforts to develop biotechnology in Malaysia, one of the 12 mega-biodiversity countries in the world.
The Malaysian pavilion was divided into four corners: the "Rainforest Song" to present various species of plants and animals, "Chorus of Life" to present the Putrajaya Swamp, the largest man-made swamp in the tropics, "Rhythms of Celebration" which is the collection of a selection of cultural and religious festivals, and "Symphony of Green" aimed to develop cities in harmony with nature.
