The path to the well' is the main theme of the exhibition presented by the Republic of Namibia. In its pavilion, the floor of the room is covered with images of the Etosha pan. The walls are decorated with silhouettes of women on their way to the well. Different graphics indicate the distance they have to walk each day to fetch water, loaded with containers carefully placed on their heads. The frame is a metaphor for the lack of water. The signs also state that the situation of the population has recently improved due to the construction of dams. The people of Namibia have made a virtue out of necessity and have developed a range of techniques to store water. They use, among other things, terracotta pots are also very common among the various Namibian communities. In recent years, the growing need for water has forced many communities to replace traditional containers with plastic buckets or jerry cans.
