In the Canary Islands pavilion, you will feel that the concept of the Happy Islands has a lot to do not only with what Nature has bestowed on this archipelago, but also with the determination of its inhabitants to maintain and increase a heritage that, in social, economic, cultural, religious and natural terms, has respected nature and, at times, even improved it. The pavilion wants to show that the islands are immersed in a task of recovering landscapes and aquifer structures as beautiful as those described by the writers and travellers who have gone before us. At the same time, in the Canary Islands there is research into the application of renewable energies to obtain water and the promotion of the education of all inhabitants in the culture of lower water consumption and energy saving as a natural way of life. Four thematic lines or structural axes have been chosen to present the contents: Islands in the Atlantic; Water landscapes in the Canary Islands; Each island, a system; Arteries of life of the Canary Islands, world water laboratory.
