The Alsace pavilion is strategically located near the pavilion in Shanghai, the host city. Designed by the Alsatian architectural group AADI, it reflects the know-how of our region in the field of energy efficiency. The building of more than 2000 m2 spread over four levels corresponds to the values based on eco-development that Alsace wants to promote today.

Characterised by its green façade, the pavilion is equipped with a solar wall inspired by the model of the Adrien Zeller high school in Bouxwiller. This technology ensures the cooling of the building through a system of water evaporation and exploitation of passive solar energy. At the end of the exhibition, the Alsace pavilion will be maintained and refurbished as offices. Inside, the scenography immerses us in this innovative Alsace which plays on three registers: the energy challenge, sustainable transport and eco-districts. On the ground floor, the "Energy Wheel", an original creation by Tomi Ungerer, is a real eye-catcher. On the first floor, a permanent exhibition immerses the visitor between tradition and modernity. The face of the "Beautiful Alsace" is shown in different seasons and can be seen against the images of the innovative Alsace. The second floor of 250m2 is occupied by a Stammtisch. This space is intended to promote the economic promotion actions as well as the competitiveness clusters of Alsace. SMEs wishing to carry out an export mission can rent equipped offices here. Finally, on the 200 m2 terrace, visitors can learn about Alsatian cuisine.
