Energy Park - Expo Yeosu 2012
The Energy Park consists of New and Renewable Energy Production Facilities for "low-carbon electricity production", the Experience Zone and a rest area.
The power plant, which cost 9.2 million won, supplies electricity through 700 fully automated, steerable photovoltaic panels covering an area of 46918 m2
This power plant was built by KOMIPO and produces 7200 kwh/day and about 2.16 million kwh/year for 20 years; an estimate based on a production capacity of 2,218 mw, which contributes to making Yeosu City an ecological city.
This facility is designed to provide all the electricity needed for the expo during its opening, and in the longer term will save 1600 tonnes of CO2 per year.
The Experience Zone is a fun and learning zone for children, where the Energy Park allows children to experience first-hand the principles of energy production.
More than 10 games offer children the opportunity to have fun while discovering environmentally friendly ways of producing energy.
A wirelessly powered electric bus line is also on display, giving a glimpse of what our near future will look like.
