The French pavilion responded to the Yeosu Korea 2012 theme "Coastal and Ocean Life: Diversity of Resources and Sustainable Activities", and presents a fun and educational exhibition on the process of desalination of sea water through the journey of "Sogeumi", a drop of saline water that will be transformed into a drop of fresh water. Four rooms illustrate the desalination process: the Crystal Room, the Sea Orbiter, the Membrane and the Cellular Garden.

This last room, "The Cellular Garden", is irrigated by fresh water from the desalination process; a symbol of technology at the service of nature, robots are in charge of animating the garden...

The pavilion was designed by David-Pierre Jalicon, an architect based in Korea, who is also the president of the French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI). It represents a playful and technological universe with microscopic and graphic scenographies and robotic technologies.
