The National Institute for Foreign Trade has a programme to facilitate Italy's economic relations with other countries, both in terms of imports and exports. The ISE aims to provide information to importers and exporters and to guarantee the quality and presentation of products offered to foreign buyers. Within the Italian section, a fruit and vegetable section was to illustrate this initiative with a colourful example. In a light and airy building, wines, fruits, flowers, vegetables, foodstuffs - the famous Italian pasta, sausages, cheeses, but above all fruits, shipped in conditions that ensure their perfect preservation, and renewed according to the season: lemons, oranges, grapes, etc., were the admiration of visitors.
A restaurant and tasting counters made it possible to appreciate the flavour of the products on display.
Another pretty little building housed a selection of brown, blond and black tobacco produced in Italy, as well as samples of cigars - including the famous Toscani - and cigarettes.
