The Philips Pavilions complex covered an area of 2,000 square metres and consisted of two buildings, a cinema room containing sound installation equipment and a demonstration room showing the astonishing diversity of the industrial activities of the Philips factories.

It was accessed by a monumental staircase leading to a terrace built over a tram line, which the architects had given the appearance of a ship's bridge.
