Nature knows how to nourish the soul, to make it participate, to stimulate it. The idea behind the Islands, Sea and Food Cluster is precisely that of "feeding the soul" through the sounds, colours and scents characteristic of this landscape.
The lapping of the water, the crunching of the sand and the regular beating that accompanies the visitor throughout his visit, reconstruct the typical harmony of these lands.
This cluster has a total surface area of 2535 m2 and an exhibition area of 750 m2 .
A large bamboo roof overhangs and unites the two pavilions that house the participating countries and welcome visitors in a unique setting of colours and atmosphere.
Quotations from numerous writers (Homer, Conrad, Christopher Columbus, Darwin and Melville), who speak to us of islands, oceans and travel, adorn the exterior walls of the pavilions.
At the end of the tour, the visitor is taken to the food court and the events area, a cube in which images of the seabed are projected: one has the impression of being in the water, of living a total sensory experience, of perceiving the mysterious beauty of the islands and of being in contact with their biodiversity, which is so moving and so fragile at the same time.
The countries represented in this cluster are:
Cape Verde
The Caribbean Community (Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname)
Comoros
Guinea-Bissau
Maldives
Madagascar
