Cable car - Expo Liege 1939

Cable car at the Exhibition Expo Liege 1939

The cable car, the symbol and the attraction of this exhibition, made it possible to cross the Meuse.

It was 1,300 metres long and rose to a height of 100 metres, linking the station next to the Lido to the other station near the Astrid Park.

This cable car, built by the company Ougrée-Marihaye, consisted of 4 cabins running in pairs and a 100-metre high tower weighing 430 tonnes.

Each cabin could carry 30 people, and they stopped for a few minutes at the top of the central pylon so that passengers could admire the superb panorama.
