Artificial silk from Tubize -

Missing picture

The Tubize Artificial Silk Pavilion, of a delicious creamy white, was a pure Louis XIV jewel worthy of housing the marvellous products it exhibited. This artificial silk, the manufacture of which is kept secret, was revealed here in its most sumptuous and shimmering colours, and in its many uses: carpets, dresses, cushions, prie-Dieu, ornaments for living room seats. The visitor's eye was especially drawn to the reproduction of Queen Marie-Antoinette's bedspread in Versailles, a marvel of patience and beauty.
