The Philadelphia Toboggan Company's Carousel (1907) is a magical ride that takes visitors back in time to the festivities of the past.
Built in 1907 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company in Germantown, Pennsylvania, this elegant carousel was certainly the finest of its time and the first the company built with a four-horse carriage.
Adorned with roses and cherubs, the carousel's four large carriages revolve around a magnificent music box surrounded by fifty-six carved horses that ascend and descend. In a rare twist, the horses in the outer row are all jumpers.
Lovingly restored to strict museum standards, the carousel has been designated a U.S. Historic Landmark.
