Canadian Pacific - Expo Vancouver 1986

The imposing Canadian Pacific pavilion, with its gleaming canopies reflecting the surrounding light and colours, is impressive.

The Expo theme, World in Motion - World in Touch, is reflected in the covered queuing area and in the two cinemas.

A cutting-edge audio-visual presentation and a 70-millimetre film on a giant screen examine the global problems posed by advances in transport and communications. It also examines the obstacles that people from different cultures face in getting to know each other and living together.

Canadian Pacific participated in its first international fair in Chicago in 1893, eight years after the last spike was driven on the Canadian transcontinental railway and seven years after the first passenger train arrived in Port Moody, near Vancouver.

Today, Canadian Pacific has grown into a multinational corporation specializing in transportation, natural resources and light industry.
