Egypt at the Exhibition Expo Brussels 1910

It is known that the Egyptian government had refused to participate in the Brussels Exhibition. However, following certain specific steps and talks between the Turkish ambassador and his government, it was decided to have a special pavilion for Egypt erected on the site reserved for the Ottoman exhibition.

But here the matter was again complicated. Since the Egyptian pavilion was erected on Ottoman territory, the General Commissioner of the Ottoman Exhibition in Brussels chose the special delegate for the Egyptian section. But this delegate appointed by the Ottoman government was not recognised by the Egyptian government, which insisted on not officially participating in the Brussels Exhibition.

A solution has now been found, thanks to the adoption of a middle ground: the Egyptian government will let the traders do as they please. The Egyptian pavilion will be erected in the Ottoman section, but officially the Egyptian government will ignore it.
