Monaco - Expo Vienna 1873

Monaco at the Exhibition Expo Vienna 1873

Since all the major countries are represented at the Vienna Exhibition, the State of Monaco could not miss this important appointment. In reality, the principality of His Serene Highness Charles III (Honoré-Grimaldi) does not contain the twentieth part of the population of Vienna, but it is an independent state, very richly endowed by nature and capable of representing a rather active industry.

The results of this industry are grouped in the pavilion whose engraving we publish, and they testify to the eyes of the visitors to the labours and efforts of this small country.

Lemons, oranges, carobs, olives, constitute the principal products of Monaco, which also manufactures plaits for straw hats, and possesses highly esteemed distilleries of petrol.
