Romanian Restaurant - Expo Paris 1900

Romanian Restaurant at the Exhibition Expo Paris 1900
Architect(s) : M. Formigé

The architect, M. Formigé, has reproduced in this construction a type of the ancient Romanian field house.

The columns of the loggia are copied from those decorating the cloister buildings of the Anthyme monastery; the terracotta friezes are a reproduction of the friezes of the churches of Harlau and St. Nicholas of Jassi.

This pavilion contains a Romanian national restaurant, but the place of honour is, of course, given to French cuisine.
