Tennessee - Expo Saint-Louis 1904

Tennessee at the Exhibition Expo Saint-Louis 1904

The Hermitage, the historic home of General Andrew Jackson, is perfectly suited for a representation of the state. The architectural style of the building is old-fashioned, in the colonial style, and generously proportioned.

On the east side of the hall one passes through a cross-shaped corridor and sees a room which is a copy of General Jackson's bedroom, the room in which he died on January 5, 1845, at the age of 78.

Many Jacksonian relics are on display in the room.

The measurements of the building are 104 by 61 feet, the cost $18,000.

This building is situated on the road leading to the California pavilion.
