Texas - Expo Saint-Louis 1904

Texas at the Exhibition Expo Saint-Louis 1904

A "star motif" was used in the design of the state built "Lone Star" building.

It is a huge five-pointed star, topped by a 132-foot high dome. There are, of course, ten walls. At the base, where each pair of walls meet, is an entrance.

All the rooms on the second floor are finished in native woods and Texas marbles. The building measures 234 feet from the extreme points of the stars and 144 feet to the top of the dome. It cost $45,516.
